March26th,2010

Injection Snoreplasty is one of the effective cure for the snoring caused by the vibration of soft palate.

Injection Snoreplasty Effectiveness

Injection snoreplasty for snoring cure, response to the treatment takes several weeks.  But to achieve the desired effect may require repeated injections. This procedure can not fundamentally eliminate snoring, but it can greatly reduce the limits of vibration, to reduce snoring. And this treatment produces a long term result.

Surgical cures for snoring can work the same way: your surgeon will use a laser, scalpel or radiofrequency device to scar and thereby stiffen your throat tissues.  The trick seems to be identifying the tissues which are most responsible for your snoring.  We’re all different. But injection snoreplasty at a much lower cost, less risk, less recovery time, less pain and the ability to resume daily activities faster if not immediately.

The typical hardening agent used in “Injection Snoreplasty” is Sotradecol. The injection will typically be 0.1cc of anesthetic Sotradecol 3%, which is placed into the soft palate as a test for allergic reaction. About 20 minutes later, if the patient is not allergic reaction, then the injection snoreplasty operation of snoring can be executed. After the injection the patient is required to wait for about 20 minutes in order to determine without any complications.

The risks of Injection Snoreplasty

The risks of Injection Snoreplasty including : not achieved the desired effects of snoring reduction, drug allergies, bleeding, tissue infection and loss. However, these risks relative to the surgical treatment of snoring (snoring), which are much smaller.

“Injection Snoreplasty” is (not) a treatment for sleep apnea and it is not a treatment that is advised for everyone with snoring problems. The cost has typically been in the $300 range per injection.  More than one injection is often necessary.

What Can remedy snoring / cure snoring

Anyone who is seriously looking to remedy snoring / cure snoring should pursue a complete check-up by a competent doctor competent in sleep disorder medicine. The treatment regimen you require to remedy snoring / cure snoring depends on your diagnosis; just simple snoring or snoring combined with sleep apnea.

Injection Snoreplasty: A non-surgical action to remedy snoring which involves injecting a
hardening agent into the soft palate.

There are also numerous outstanding surgical procedures to remedy snoring and sleep apnea now available. These procedures can range from $5000 to $30000, so they are not inexpensive.

EENT (Ear, Eye, Nose and Throat), or Otolaryngologists propose a broad range of treatment options that aid in eliminating or reducing snoring and/or sleep apnea.

CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure): A normal treatment for sleep apnea but it
is seldom used for simple snoring. It is designed to remedy snoring by forcing more
oxygen into the airway during sleep.

UPPP(Uvulopalatopharyngoplasty)
If it’s your soft palate (the roof of the mouth) and uvula (that little punching bag in the back of the mouth) that are “falling backwards,” blocking your airway, then UPPP (uvulopalatopharyngoplasty) is worth considering. In a UPPP, the surgeon will trim off the lower part of the soft palate, including the uvula. If you still have tonsils, the surgeon will remove them at this time. He/she will then place sutures to bring the raw tissue edges together. You will have an upside-down “U” of stitches in the back of your throat. Depending on whether you needed a tonsillectomy, the operation may take about an hour, more or less.

LAUP(Laser-assisted uvuloplatoplasty )
LAUP is performed under local or general anaesthetic and is considered to be a safer, more economical and a more comfortable alternative to UPPP. It involves vaporising the free edge of the soft palate and uvula using a laser. Unlike UPPP, LAUP can be repeated in order to obtain the desired effect. The number of procedures needed varies with some patients requiring up to four sessions. The tonsils are not removed with this procedure. Although laser surgery is associated with fewer complications than UPPP, post-operative pain is still reported as being severe.

CAPSO(Platal stiffening operations)
Cautery-assisted palatal stiffening operation (CAPSO) is a recently developed single office-based procedure performed with local anesthesia for the treatment of palatal snoring. A midline strip of soft palate mucosa is removed, and the wound is allowed to heal by secondary intention. The flaccid palate is stiffened, and palatal snoring ceases. Because this procedure is less invasive than UPPP or LAUP there are generally fewer complications, however post-operative pain is similar to the other surgical methods. Data now available shows that the short-term efficacy is also similar to that of UPPP and LAUP. As with LAUP, CAPSO can be repeated until the desired effect on the snoring is gained.

Somnoplasty(Radio-frequency ablation )
Somnoplasty is a lately develop method of treatment to treat sleep apnea as well as snoring problem. The word ‘Somn’ means ‘sleep’ while the ‘plasty’ stands for ‘surgical repair’.

Simple Cure Snoring Solutions

There are several things that cause snoring. There are also several things you can try to cure snoring. One of the most common causes of snoring is by tongue interference. This occurs when you sleep on your back and the tongue is in the way of the back of the throat.

This blocks the airflow from the mouth to the lungs. As the tongue vibrates against the back of the throat, it causes an annoying and loud vibration, called snoring.

If this is the problem, you can just switch sleep positions. Try sleeping on your side, your tongue will move to the side of your mouth, away from the back of your throat. This should stop the vibration and you will get a peaceful rest and hopefully you will have solved your snoring problems.

If you are a smoker, I would suggest you quit smoking because a huge number of smokers do snore. Many people who have quit smoking, have also been able to cure snoring. Not only will this cure snoring, there are obvious health benefits to kicking the habit.

We also know that many overweight people snore, which can be very embarrassing especially if you are a woman and your husband makes fun of you in front of his buddies. If you lose a few pound, and stop snoring you will be happier and healthier, and your husband will have to find a new subject for his jokes. You will also feel proud that you found an effective way to cure snoring, and you will gladly suggest it to your friends, especially the ones with snoring husbands.

If your tongue is the cause of your snoring, you can purchase an expensive custom made device, but this should only be considered as a last resort, as there are less expensive remedies you should try first. Some have also consulted a dentist, but even before you do that you should try some less expensive solutions such as nasal strips.

These strips are worn over the bridge of your nose while you sleep, these adhesive strips gently pull open your nasal passages encouraging you to breathe through your nose, rather than your mouth, which should reduce your snoring. Unfortunately some people may not be able to sleep with this thing on their nose, If you can not wear the strip, it will not cure snoring.
